Friday, September 18 was action packed for Smith Tennis

ITA-09 was held at MIT this year and the event was exciting and very challenging. With the team national 2009 NCAA finalist (Amherst) and national champions (Williams) competing in the event, there proved no easy rounds. Isabela Pal and Alanna Dick represented Smith in the singles while Gianna Teague and Jaimi Inskeep were the doubles representatives. Isabela won the only round but all players played with poise and heart.

Across the river at MHC, the other Smith team members were competing in a doubles jamboree hosted by Mount Holyoke College. Springfield and Smith were the invited guests for the day. All five doubles teams played two rounds of eight game pro sets before the day ended. The event proved to be good practice for the Smith doubles honing the newly formed teams.

Back at home in the same evening, Smith hosted Twilight tennis on the home courts invited any members of the community to come and play under the lights.
