The Smith College Tennis team kicked off its spring season with a 2-1 start in Hilton Head, SC last week. The team earned sweeps against Westminster College and the College of Wooster, but then fell to nationally-ranked Rhodes College. Highlights of the week included playing mixed doubles and mini golf with the Concordia men's team, eating gourmet food (generously prepared by Maggie's mom,) and being housed next door to Van der Meer's prestigious tennis academy. Besides spending many hours on the tennis court playing and practicing, the team also found time to go to the beach, go shopping, and just relax! Now back in Western Mass, the team looks forward to continuing their strong match play this weekend at the Seven Sisters' Tournament held at Vassar College. Stay tuned for further updates!
