Gianna Teague jumped from #3 singles in the fall into the #1singles position this spring. Although it has been a big jump for Gianna from the fall, she has stepped up with confidence and determination. She notched a 2-2 record on the spring trip in Hilton Head Island with wins over Nazareth and Heidelberg number 1 players. She had a close match with the Spring Arbor #1 coming from behind 1-4 to tie the score at 5-5 before dropping the second set 5-7. Gianna has the most fun on the court when she is able to strike the ball decisively for outright baseline winners. She is fun to watch and has proven, without a doubt, that she belongs at the top of the Smith College Tennis line-up.
